You asked, we listened! These 3" diameter HD (heavy-duty) solid-core Compliant Wheels are intended for manipulating objects where you need a little 'give' in your intake system. These wheels deform out of the way to allow rigid objects to be manipulated easily. This makes for high-performance intakes and internal conveyors. These wheels do not require the use of expensive hubs to be driven, thanks to their integrated high strength polycarbonate hubs - which are made from the same mold that creates our Hex Molded Spacers.

Different durometer ratings give each wheel unique characteristics. Green compliant wheels (35A durometer) are the softest and most compliant around objects, while maroon (45A) blue (50A) and black (60A) wheels are increasingly firm.

This is a Heavy Duty Hex Bearing which outperforms our previous 1/2" Hex Bearings as it has a Heavy Duty Inner Race. This FR8ZZ-HexHD bearing, 1/2" hex bore, flanged, heavy duty inner race, shielded ball bearing, has an inner race that is thicker and stronger than our recent offering of a similar bearing (am-0279). This bearing has more material between the corners of the hex bore and the edge of the race making it stronger and much less likely to crack under high load.

This bearing is guaranteed to have a stronger, thicker race. 100% of these bearings have been quality checked for a smooth fit over 1/2" hex stock here at AndyMark. Many of our long-time customers will recognize this bearing, as it is the same version we sold back in 2008-2011, and we did not have any failures. Now, it is renamed and quality checked for your high load needs - including drive chassis with cantilevered wheels.

The CIM motor is a tried and true FIRST Robotics Competition workhorse motor. This brushed DC motor is 2.5 inches in diameter and kicks out 337 watts of power.

Pinion Options:

The CIM motor shaft is 0.313 in. (8 mm) in diameter and 1.25 inches long. It features a 2 mm wide machine key slot allowing installation of any number of custom or off the shelf pinions such as those included with all of our CIM based gearboxes. Other options include a pre-attached 16 tooth pinion making the CIM ready to mate to a CIM Sport planetary gearbox or a pre-attached 15 tooth pinion preparing the CIM for an EVO Gearbox. Use either of these two options if you are planning on using either the CIM Sport or an EVO gearbox and don't want to install the press fit pinion yourself. All of our other CIM based gearboxes use a slip fit pinion & machine key and are easy for the end user to install.

Our Entrapption Stars have two bore options, making them viable parts for both FRC and FTC! This product is frequently used as intake wheels for picking up game pieces. Made from silicone, they are flexible, yet firm, allowing for the ability to pick up objects of irregular shape.

The 1/2 in. Hex Bore option is designed to be an interference fit on any 0.5 in. Hex Shaft.  This means the bore is actually 0.425 in. and it will be a tight press on, but keep the entrapption star from rotating.

This spacer is designed to fit on a shaft or screw that is 0.375 in. in diameter. Spacers help keep things in place in a multitude of ways. You can use this to slip over a shaft that is smaller than the inside diameter, between objects where it gets smashed between them with other fasteners, or help center a shaft of smaller size into a larger hole. Compliant wheels are not intended for moving robots, but moving objects. Compliant wheels give way to allow rigid objects to be manipulated easily. A line of multiple wheels on a driven hex shaft creates a very effective roller that ignores variations in the objects being driven. This makes for high-performance intakes and internal conveyors. The wheels are sized for an interference fit and tend to stay in place on a shaft, though a shaft collar may be used to make absolutely sure the wheels stay clear of other mechanisms or maintain consistent spacing.

The hex bore versions of this wheel are undersized, and are intended to be an interference fit on their respective hex shafts. This interference fit allows for effective torque transfer from the hex shaft to the wheel, as well as allowing the wheel to remain in place along the shaft without the need for spacers or collar clamps:
