NeveRest Classic 40 Gearmotor, JST-VH-2 Connector

    #am-2964b
    $38.95

The NeveRest 40 is a gearmotor with an attached encoder. The output shaft geometry and the gearbox housing diameter is similar to what FTC teams are familiar with. The shaft is a 6 mm D and the gearbox housing is 37 mm diameter.

    FIRST Legality:

    • According to the FIRST Tech Challenge Game Manual Part 1, Rule RE10, this is legal for the 2020-2021 FTC Game.
    • According to the FIRST Robotics Challenge Game Manual, Rule R27, this is legal for the 2020-2021 FRC Game as it uses the NeveRest am-3104 motor.

    Encoder:
There is an encoder mounted to the backside of this motor. It is a 7 pulse per revolution (ppr), hall effect encoder. Since the motor's gearbox has a 40:1 reduction, then the NeverRest 40 output shaft provides 280 ppr.

    Encoder Cable Options:
NeveRest motors do not come with an encoder cable as we offer 3 cable options:

am-3926a allows you to connect the encoder directly to the FIRST Tech Challenge REV Controller.

am-2992 has the 4 encoder pins joined in one housing using standard 0.1" spacing.

am-2993 allows you to break out the 4 pins separately if you need them in a different order.
    Working with the Encoders:

    Performance Specs:
Force Needed to Break Gearbox: 1478 oz-in
Time to Failure at Stall: 2 minutes, 54 seconds
Motor Case Temperature at Failure: 190 degrees F

NeveRest Motor REV Expansion Hub Encoder Cable

    #am-3926a
    $5.25

This is the cable designed for the encoder that is pre-attached to the NeveRest Series of motors and gearmotors. It has a connector on the opposite end to directly interface with the REV Expansion Hub or the REV Control Hub.

    2019 Update:

The 'a' version of this cable as the encoder channels swapped so that the encoder counts in the same direction as the output shaft spins. This simplifies the usage of the encoder with the various programming languages for FTC!

#10-24x3/4 Thread Forming Screw Minimum Qty 10

    #am-1123
    $0.31
    (En stock)

This is a Trilobe, thread forming, or thread rolling screw, ideal for applications where the screw is being threaded into plastic or metal.

A flat washer is part of the 5/16 hex head, providing more surface area contact than a regular hex head. The increased bearing area decreases the likeliness of crushing mating surfaces. Trilobe, or Thread Rolling, screws have a blunt tapered point that requires a pre-drilled or punched hole; eliminates chips and permits replacement with standard screw. Zinc plating froms a zinc carbonate film that greatly retards the corrosion rate in a normal atmosphere, which is similar to the aluminum oxide film that forms on aluminum that accounts for its low corrosion rate.

    Product Overview:

    • Quantity: 50
    • Diameter: #10
    • Finish: Zinc
    • Head: 5/16 Hex with integral washer
    • Thread Length: 3/4"
    • Material: Steel
    • Thread Size: 10-24
    • Thread Type: Trilobe, Thread Rolling
    • Weight per Screw: 0.007 lbs
    • Package Weight: 0.34 lbs

    $319.00
    (En stock)

4 inch, HEAVY DUTY Mecanum wheel set, these come assembled as shown in the picture. This is a set of 4 wheels, consisting of 2 "right" wheels and 2 "left" wheels. All 4 wheels are required to make a Mecanum drive holonomic system to work properly. This version of the wheel can handle a 200 pound load per wheel. The interior body of this wheel is made of molded black poycarbonate, while the perimeter side plate is made of 1/8 inch thick steel, zinc plated. The perimeter plate is riveted to the interior body, and each perimeter bent tab rests on the interior body rim. This support allows for the wheel to handle more load.

    • Diameter: 4 in.
    • Width Across Middle: 2.18 in.
    • Bore: 1.124 in.
    • Bolt Pattern: 6 holes (0.2 in. diameter) on a 1.875 in. diameter circle
    • Body Material, Outer: 0.12 in. thick steel, zinc plated
    • Body Material, Inner: molded black polycarbonate
    • Load Capacity: 200 pounds per wheel
    • Forward / Reverse Coefficient of Friction: 0.7 (on tight pile carpet)

    • Nine - M3 x 0.5" Nyock Nut
    • Eighteen - 1/8 in. dia. rivets

    Roller and Axle Design:
The gray urethane rubber roller (am-3027) has a durometer rating of 80A. The roller has a Nylon core, and rides on a stationary brass tube.

    Wheel Structure:
9 rubber rollers are sandwiched between 2 steel plates. The steel plates are riveted to two interior polycarbonate hubs, which form the interior of the wheel. The two interior pieces are held together by the fastening technique of the rollers being attached.

These wheels can be purchased individually as Left (am-3026L) or Right (am-3026R) wheels. They are sold without hubs, sprockets, or bearings.

    Usage:

For FTC Robots: If attached to a shaft or NeveRest motor, these parts are needed for each wheel

    • A wheel conversion plate can be used to allow for mounting to smaller shaft sizes
    • #10-24 thread-forming screws are used to fasten the conversion plate to the wheel (6 per wheel).
    • 6mm D Bore AndyMark Nub or other 6mm Hub are needed to attach each wheel to a 6mm axle or NeveRest motor shaft.
    •

With Axle and Hub: If driven by a shaft, these parts are needed for each wheel

    • A hub that matches the size of the drive shaft. For 1/2 in. dia. shafts, use a 1/2 in. Key Hub (am-0077a) for each wheel.
    • #10-24 thread-forming screws are used to fasten a hub to the wheel (we suggest 6).
    • 1/8 x 1/8 x 3/4 steel machine key (am-1043) is needed, one per wheel

With Sprocket: If driven by a sprocket, these parts are needed for each wheel

    • Flanged ball bearings (qty. 2) with 1.125 in. od: either 3/8 in. inside diameter (am-0209), or 1/2 in. i.d. (am-0181)
    • A sprocket (type A) with a bolt hole circle of 1.875 in. diameter mounts to the wheels' interior bolt pattern.
    • #10-24 thread-forming screws are used to fasten a hub to the wheel (we suggest 6).

    FTC Perimeter Field Kit

    #am-0481b
    $955.00
    (2 En stock)

This is the official FIRST Tech Challenge Perimeter. This perimeter may be referenced as am-0481, am-0481a, or am-0481b in documentation. This is reusable from year to year and does not include soft tiles, game-specific hardware, components, or game pieces. This "b" revision is compatible with the previous "a" revision, meaning "b" version corners and panels can be used as replacement in "a" version perimeters.

The perimeter is comprised of eight hinged panels and four straight panels. Once assembled, the perimeter creates an 11 feet 9 inch by 11 feet 9 inch square enclosure. The hinged corners and quick release pins make for easy assembly, requiring no tools. Side panels include a built-in wire way for easy cable management.

An adjustable Perimeter Strap (am-2270a) placed under this playing surface help keep the walls square during game play.

    Included Hardware:

    • 4 - Hinged Panel Corners (am-2600b)
    • 4 - Flat Panel Sections (am-2160b)
    • 2 - Straps with Hooks (am-2270a)
    • 16 - Panel Rail Links (am-2580a)
