Pitsco Education Timber Cutter is a helpful tool for cutting 1/8" wooden sticks. Recommended for bridge and tower building as well as other model projects. The see-through safety guard limits finger access to the blade.
A single-edged razor blade provides a clean, accurate cut. Miter marks are molded into the base to use as a reference when making angle cuts. Five extra blades are included. Additional replacement blades sold separately.
Pitsco Education Timber Tester is best used for determining the best timbers to use for the most critical members of the bridge or tower, as well as the optimum way to orient the timbers to provide the maximum amount of load-bearing capacity for any structure. The unit is durable, with the main member of the unit constructed of rugged ABS plastic. The testing span is adjustable from 4 to 12 inches, and the scale provides readings from 0 to 7 units of load. We recommend one Timber Tester for every four to six “structural engineers.”
Pitsco Education Towerpak is the most convenient and economical way to introduce an exciting tower activity to your entire class. It supplies your class with the materials it needs for the activity – wood building material (either balsa wood or basswood, your choice), colored Pitsco Structures Glue (the color makes it great for locating and judging joints), 25 tower design grid sheets, and 25 copies of the Student Guide to Model Tower Building. Requires hobby knife or Timber Cutter, foam board, structure pins, and waxed paper, sold separately.
Not intended for use with the EQs Tremor Table.
This kit is unique in that you can build it with either a truss or hipped roof. Whichever roof style is selected, students learn about:
The framing kit is for a home featuring a standard, two-bedroom layout.
Looking for a way to increase the speed and performance of your dragster? Try Pitsco’s Ultimate Axle Bushings – the ultimate in friction reduction.
These bushings fit snugly into the drilled axle hole, providing a slick, flat outer surface that will rub against the wheel hubs – similar to the function of washers but even better.
The interior of the axle bushing has been engineered to provide only a small amount of surface area that is in direct contact with the axle. In fact, these bearings provide a 94% reduction in the average surface bearing area – the area where friction is produced.
Ultimate Axle Bushings – another innovation from your friends at Pitsco! Flange diameter is 0.313". Fits snugly in a 0.25" hole.
The wheel-molding process isn’t perfect – but that’s no reason your wheels can’t be!
This simple tool makes it easy to create perfectly round wheels for your CO2 dragsters and other model cars. Place the wheel on the lathe and press the run button while moving the cutting tool back and forth across the wheel – adjust the lathe’s gauge to the tire as needed.
Requires a standard 120 V wall outlet. For use with standard-size dragster wheels (approximately 35 to 40 mm).
The Wind Bag is a high-tech, balloon-powered racer designed for both speed and distance. What makes it unique is a specially designed system that holds the balloon in place during its travel, thereby limiting friction and providing consistent thrust from the balloon. The kit comes with three different-size nozzles that maximize distance, speed, or combined speed and distance. Requires white glue and a drill, sold separately.
Choking Hazard: Children younger than eight years old can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Adult supervision required. Keep uninflated balloons from children. Discard broken balloons at once.
