    The Dental Palpation Simulator offers dental educators a safe, hands-on tool to help students practice conducting comprehensive intraoral and extraoral head/neck examinations. This realistic simulator enables students to gain lifelike experience palpating soft tissues and the external head and neck areas, helping them identify normal anatomical structures as well as potential abnormalities.

    • Hands-on practice conducting intraoral soft tissue examination and extraoral head and neck exams 
    • Flexible face and mouth lining over an anatomically correct jaw with 28 permanent teeth, movable tongue, and jawbone 
    • Can be attached to a real dental chair to keep the simulator in place during an exam
    • The head and neck include soft tissues with the ability to add included abnormality inserts as desired:
      • Firm large tumor insert in buccal mucosa
      • Polyp insert in the labial mucosa
      • Growth insert in the oropharynx area of the throat
      • Hard palate tumor insert in fauces
      • Insert for facial asymmetry
      • Enlarged lymph node
    • Use the included scenario cards to facilitate think-pair-share and other group activities, discuss key questions, or assess knowledge gained 
    • Adjust each side of the jaw separately to compare healthy versus TMJ or crepitus
    • Downloadable curriculum addresses how to do extraoral and intraoral soft tissue exams 
    • Other abnormalities that are part of the simulator include:  
      • Hyperkeratosis 
      • Angular cheilitis ​ 
      • Ulcer​ 
      • Abscess ​
