The Utility Building Kit 101 includes all the materials needed to build a 1":1' scale framing model of a utility building plus templates, instructions, and basic construction information.

(See table below.) No more hours at the band saw ripping stock to the appropriate sizes! Students can now construct 1-1/2" = 1' (1:8) scale models of anything they can design.

No power tools are required to assemble Pitsco’s Dimensioned Lumber. Lumber tolerance +/- 1/32".

This architectural model kit is written and designed so a beginning architecture student can easily build a scaled 1/4" model house. Advanced students can further the model’s design with more detailed exterior and interior finishes. The home comes with an 8-1/2" x 11" foam board base, balsa wood strips for window and door trims, foam board sheets for walls and roof, scaled paper patterns for all exterior and interior walls and roof, and paper paste-on material patterns for walls and roof. Our 1/4" Scale Architectural Details also work well with this model. Includes clear instructions that guide students through the building process.

While straw structures might look simple, they offer a variety of activities to demonstrate shapes. This elementary guide is written for Grades 3-5. With these fun activities, students grasp a variety of subjects including shapes, lines, forces, loads, and tons more.

The Straw Structures Elementary STEM Activity Guide contains the NGSS, CCSSM, and CCSSELA standards addressed; teacher and student instructions for math, science, and engineering activities; assessment questions; and student pages. This guide contains two guided inquiry lessons and a culminating engineering challenge for students to apply concepts learned through the inquiry lessons.

Equipment and materials needed to complete guide activities include the straw structures kits (Try This: Straw Structure Kit or Geosolids 30-Pack), playing cards, tape, rulers, glue, cardboard, string, and standard classroom tools and materials.
