    Encoder motor 24V 20.4:1

At first glance, the encoder motors are normal electric motors designed for a voltage of 24 volts and a maximum current consumption of 0.34 amps. But the encoder motors can do even more: In addition to the connection for the motor's power supply, they also have a socket for a 4-pin connection cable, which can be used to evaluate the motor's rotational movement using the so-called encoder. The encoders on the fischertechnik encoder motors generate 3 pulses per revolution of the motor shaft. And because the encoder motors also have a gear with a gear ratio of 20.4:1 (pronounced "20.4 to 1"), one revolution of the shaft that comes out of the gear corresponds to 61.2 pulses from the encoder.
