Prop Racers Teacher’s Guide

Rubber motor-powered propeller cars aren’t just for the playground – they belong in the STEM classroom as well. Using the Pitsco Prop Racer and Propeller Buggy, this guide helps you explore velocity, aerodynamics, kinetic energy, mechanical energy, and other STEM principles through these easy-to-build racers.

The Prop Racers Teacher’s Guide contains NCTM, NSTA, ITEEA, and Common Core English standards addressed; teacher and student instructions for a variety of math, science, and technology activities; pretests and posttests with answer keys; resource pages; and a puzzle. Contains separate activities for middle school and high school students.

Equipment and materials needed to complete guide activities include the Prop Racer – Getting Started Package, digital scale, tape measure, stopwatch, scissors, washers or other weights, eggs, and standard classroom tools and materials. Note: This list is for all activities; individual activities don’t require all listed materials.
